BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT CANDIDACY
Brazilian butt lift candidates:
- Want to increase the volume and size of their buttocks.
- Are in good general health.
- Have good skin laxity. If your buttocks have excess or sagging tissue, a butt implant procedure may be a better choice.
- Have unwanted fat deposits in other regions of the body that can be extracted and used to augment the buttocks.
- Have realistic expectations for the outcomes of this procedure.
At your initial consultation, Dr. Robles will examine your body, review your medical records, and discuss your cosmetic goals to determine if you are a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift.
First, Dr. Robles will perform liposuction to harvest fat tissue from another area of your body. Patients most commonly choose to remove fat from the abdomen, waist, back, or bra roll. This step is artfully performed to enhance your shape and overall figure. Dr. Robles will make small incisions in the treatment regions, insert tiny cannula (tubes), and use our MicroAire® power-assisted liposuction tool to dissolve fat before it is removed. This specialized device causes minimal trauma to the fat cells, resulting in a higher rate of graft survival and excellent long-term results. Next, Dr. Robles will use a special canister to collect the fat, helping the tissue survive between steps.
Once Dr. Robles has finished the liposuction, he will use a special fat grafting cannula to inject the tissue into the fascia (fibrous tissue) and gluteal muscles at varying depths. He will apply the fat tissue in a fan-shaped pattern to accentuate the “v” shape from the lower back into the buttock area. In some cases, Dr. Robles will combine this procedure with butt implant placement to achieve the desired results. Brazilian butt lift surgery typically takes between three and four hours.
Immediately following your Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Robles will place special tape around the buttocks to keep the newly injected fat tissue in the correct places. You will need to wear this tape for about two weeks. You will also wear a pressure garment specifically designed for Brazilian butt lift recovery. You will be able to walk and sit immediately, but you may feel a sore pressure and notice mild to moderate bruising for five to seven days after your procedure. Dr. Robles will see you the day after your surgery to adjust your garments and tape. Most patients return to work within about one week and can resume exercise within three to four weeks. You must sleep on your stomach for six weeks after your surgery. You will need to return for follow-up appointments one month, three months, six months, nine months, and one year after your procedure so that Dr. Robles can monitor your healing and help you achieve the best possible results.
