Brazilian Butt Lift vs Buttock Implants
Benefits of Buttock Augmentation
A buttock augmentation is suitable for those patients who want to achieve an hourglass figure with fuller, perkier-looking buttocks. Apart from the curve-enhancing benefits of this procedure, buttock augmentation can also help patients who want to achieve a more balanced profile. For example, a bodybuilder may undergo augmentation if he is unable to develop proportionate gluteal muscles.
Dr. Robles utilizes state-of-the-art technology to provide attractive and natural-looking results.
When you come in for your initial consultation with Dr. Robles at Robles Plastic Surgery, he can help you choose the right treatment option after a thorough exam and discussion of your individual goals.
Treatment Options: Fat Grafting Vs. Gluteal Implants
Dr. Robles utilizes state-of-the-art technology to provide attractive and natural-looking results after a buttock augmentation. There are two options available to patients who want to alter the shape and size of their buttocks: fat grafting and gluteal implants.
Gluteal Implants: The specialized butt implants offered at our practice can enhance the size and shape of your buttocks, giving you a voluptuous backside. We only use Implantech® implants that are specially designed for gluteal enhancement. Dr. Robles can customize these implants and place them in different parts of the buttocks to address specific needs.
During your butt implant placement procedure, Dr. Robles makes two incisions in the intergluteal cleft, an approach which allows him to achieve more predictable results than the single-incision method. Dr. Robles then creates implant pockets, ensuring a firm fit that prevents the implants from shifting. Patients can return to work typically one week after surgery, and resume exercising after about four weeks.
Fat Grafting: Dr. Robles can harvest a patient's body fat to achieve curvier and fuller buttocks. Fat transfer involves liposuction (using our MicroAire® power-assisted tool) from either the abdomen, thighs, or hips, and then injecting this fat into the treatment sites of the buttocks. This procedure is also known as a Brazilian butt lift. It has a high rate of acceptance, as the filler consists of the body's own tissues.
Fat grafting uses small tubes to withdraw and deposit fat, thus resulting in minimal scarring. Patients generally wear compression garments post-surgery to enhance the results, and can typically return to work in one to two weeks.

Generally, the fat transfer method is preferable, as it uses natural fat to create contoured and natural-looking buttocks and a smoother recovery. However, implants are more suitable for those patients who have minimal body fat, such as those who are very thin. Our knowledgeable staff and Dr. Robles can guide you through the process and help you choose the right treatment during a consultation. Contact us to learn more about buttock augmentation options.
